I have always been fascinated by cards, and decks of cards. I even made a series with my own version of the famous Tarot Cards. So when I was a kid I liked a tv anime show named "Sakura Card Captors", in which a young girl had to look for multiple cards with different powers and abilities. My grandfather liked to play Bridge, and I guess he passed his love for cards to me because when I was a kid my parents used to buy me a magazine which talked about card games and brought a special card each week.
Also, as a kid, I was drawn to the concept of Yin Yang, with a small token that was hanging from a necklace my mother gave me. The explanation for it was "in everything good exists something bad, and in everything bad exists something good"
As a photographer, I take elements from my past and my life and like to represent them in a new and artistic way, which made me think about Yin Yang with Light and Dark, both cards from the deck of Sakura Card Captors.
